On Friday, April 27th – the June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $2.805, three cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.839, a momentary jump to the intraday high of $2.814 quickly subsided as markets realigned with fundamentals. With consumption in the past week declining by 6%, as reported by the EIA, prices fell to $2.77 level ahead of midday. Falling to the intraday low of $2.769 before closing, June finished lower on Friday at $2.771.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 60 cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was down one cent; and, Gasoline was down two cents.
