Friday, April 13th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.715, three cents above Thursday’s closing price of $2.686. Supported by short-covering and an increase in consumption due to both cooling demand and heating demand in different parts of the country, the contract ascended confidently Friday morning to reach a two-week intraday high of $2.760 by 10:30AM. Declining modestly over the balance of the day as we move deeper into spring, May closed higher on the week at $2.735.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 73 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down two cents.
