Tuesday, November 26th saw the front month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $3.406, up $0.037 compared to Friday’s closing price of $3.369. December settled higher on Monday at $3.431.
Set to assume the front-month position today, January opened at $3.497, $0.054 above Friday’s closing price. Marking an intraday low of $3.390 at 11:35am prices rose throughout the day as cold forecasts and healthy LNG exports provided support. Marking the intraday high of $3.528 at 2:05PM, January closed higher on Monday at $3.467.
The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out today at 12:00 PM. The report is expected to show a 3 BCF withdrawal from storage for the week ended November 15th. This compares to a 7 BCF withdrawal this time last year and a five-year average withdrawal amount of 16 BCF.
As of 8:30AM this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $0.390; Natural Gas was up $0.024; Heating Oil was down $0.006; and Gasoline was up $0.004.
