Monday, December 14th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.687, nearly ten cents above Friday’s closing price $2.591. Bolstered by colder temperatures entering the forecast, prices jumped in pre-session trading, tallying a near two week intraday high of $2.704 at 10:40AM. Selling dominated the early afternoon as the contract withdrew to an intraday low of $2.612 at 1:20PM. Recovering ahead of 2:30PM, the January contract closed higher on Monday at $2.682.
As of 7:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 23 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
