Monday, June 15th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.725, just below Friday’s closing price of $1.731. Ascending to an intraday high of $1.738 minutes after the opening bell, prices soon swooped lower as markets reacted to news of an increase in active drilling rigs. Falling to a one-month intraday low of $1.661 at 11:20AM, the contract traded along either side of $1.675 throughout the afternoon. The July contract closed lower on Monday at $1.669.
As of 8:25AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 91 cents; Natural Gas was down one cent; Heating Oil was up three cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
