Friday, December 6th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.392, three cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.427. Jumping to an intraday high of $2.420 by 9:15AM, the contract then posted a staggered descent to stabilize near $2.395 at 11:00AM. Sinking to $2.360 by midday, contrasting weather models had traders exercising caution before the weekend. Stepping lower at 2:00PM to bottom-out at an intraday low of $2.328 ahead of closing, January finished lower on the day at $2.334, up 2% on the week.
As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 68 cents; Natural Gas was down 12 cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down two cents.
