January NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $4.407 on Tuesday, December 11th

Tuesday, December 11th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $4.446, eight cents below Monday’s closing price of $4.545.  Following a jump to the intraday high of $4.478 at 9:20AM, the contract soon returned Monday’s gains as mild temperatures are expected to cover much of the country in the next 10-14 days.  Tallying the intraday low of $4.348 at 11:40AM, prices proceeded to fluctuate within five cents of $4.400 over the balance of the day as January closed lower on Tuesday at $4.407.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 77 cents; Natural Gas was down 14 cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up two cents.  Additionally, cash prices were lower in New York and higher in New England.
