Tuesday, October 2nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $3.113, two cents above Monday’s closing price of $3.094. Buoyed overnight as Monday’s weather forecasts continue to impress, prices shot higher through the morning to $3.190 and reached a fresh eight-month intraday high of $3.194 at 1:10PM. With the end of the shoulder month drawing near, markets are entering the heating season aggressively as fundamentals likely won’t sustain this momentum. November closed higher on Tuesday at $3.166.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up eight cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and, Gasoline was down slightly.
