Monday, October 19th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.712, six cents below Friday’s closing price $2.773. Falling to an intraday low of $2.666 within minutes of the opening bell, prices then whipsawed to the upside. Crossing midday near $2.790, a brief pullback then saw the contract jump to an intraday high of $2.803 as bullish temperatures cover the Midwest. The November contract closed higher on Monday at $2.795.
As of 8:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 23 cents; Natural Gas was up 11 cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was up slightly.
