On Friday, September 27th – the November NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $2.419, roughly two cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.443, prices fell early on to reach an intraday low of $2.380 at 9:30AM. Recovering in the following two hours, the contract rose to the intraday high of $2.425 by 11:20AM. Gauging the impact of unseasonably cool and hot temperatures in different sections of the country, November drifted modestly lower into the afternoon to close lower at $2.404.
As of 8:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 86 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down one cent.
