Monday, February 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.790, nearly six cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.846. Buoyed by technical trading through 9:30AM, prices marked the intraday high $2.796 before tumbling lower. Crossing $2.770 by 10:00AM, the contract continued downward into the morning as weather and storage support wanes. Realizing the intraday low of $2.736 ahead of midday, March proceeded to trade along the $2.75 mark for the balance of the day, closing lower on Monday at $2.747.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 86 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down three cents.
