Tuesday, December 24th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.171, four cents below Monday’s closing price of $2.214. Falling to an intraday low of $2.162 by 10:20AM, forecasts for above average temperatures have erased any sense of urgency in the market as production and storage levels remain healthy. Rising to an intraday high of $2.198 at 11:30AM, January finished lower on Tuesday at $2.172.
As of 8:50 AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up seven cents; Natural Gas was up eight cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up one cent.
