Monday, April 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.719, two cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.739. Dipping to the intraday low of $2.715 within minutes of opening, prices ascended over the following thirty minutes to the intraday high of $2.753. Despite expectations for another withdrawal from storage for the week ended April 20th, seasonal temperatures have moved in to cover much of the northeast, reducing fundamental support. Trading within a tight band along $2.735 throughout the balance of the day, May closed marginally higher on Monday at $2.740.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 29 cents; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was up one cent; and, Gasoline was up one cent.
