Tuesday, February 13th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.611, six cents above Monday’s closing price of $2.552. With little to no support from market fundamentals, traders found value in the recently diminished contract overnight and buoyed its gains through the day. Reaching the intraday high of $2.642 by 10:00AM, prices stabilized near $2.630 through midday before stepping lower. March closed higher on Tuesday at $2.594.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 84 cents; Natural Gas was down four cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down three cents.
