Monday, April 11th saw the May NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at of $6.430, fifteen cents above Friday’s closing price of $6.278. Slipping to the intraday low of $6.427 early on, prices spiked to $6.610 by 9:15AM as below-average temperatures have once again entered the forecast. Fluctuating along $6.550 through midday, prices rose steadily into the after as supply concerns persist. Reaching another multi-month intraday high of $6.668 ahead of 2:30PM, May closed higher on Monday at $6.643.
As of 6:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $3.64 cents; Natural Gas was up eight cents; Heating Oil was up 13 cents; and Gasoline was up six cents.
