Tuesday, July 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.299, a penny below Monday’s closing price of $2.312. In an uneventful session, prices traded within a three-cent band all day. Falling to the intraday low of $2.291 by 10:30AM, a balanced rise to an intraday high of $2.321 two hours later then saw the contract gradually slide back to the $2.300 level. Despite supportive weather forecasts, traders are awaiting the next market catalyst to make any serious moves as August closed lower on Tuesday at $2.300.
As of 8:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 26 cents; Natural Gas was down four cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was down one cent.
