Monday, June 17th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.376, a penny below Friday’s closing price of $2.387. Managing an upward trajectory into the morning hours, prices rose to an intraday high of $2.408 at 11:00AM. With little change to forecasts, momentum soon faded as the contract slipped to the $2.38 level, tallying an intraday low of $2.372 at 1:00PM. Remaining largely unchanged on Monday as traders await the next market catalyst, July finished nearly even on the session at $2.386.
As of 8:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 20 cents; Natural Gas was unchanged; Heating Oil was down slightly; and Gasoline was down one cent.
