On Monday, April 29th – the June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $2.560, two cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.580, prices rose steadily out of the gate to reach above $2.580 by 9:20AM. Trailing downward to an intraday low of $2.546 an hour later, the contract then mounted a steady ascent spanning the balance of the day. Tallying an intraday high of $2.597 ahead of 2:30PM, June closed higher on Monday at $2.593.
As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.20; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was up four cents; and Gasoline was up four cents.
