Friday, November 16th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $4.145, eleven cents above Thursday’s closing price of $4.038. In a week where the contract nearly eclipsed the $5.00 level only to sink below $4.000 twenty-four hours later, below-average temperatures, high demand, and short covering made for a volatile few days. Moving higher Friday morning to trade near $4.345 by 10:00AM, a decline to the intraday low of $4.106 three hours later ultimately saw December finish the day on an upbeat to close higher at $4.272.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 74 cents; Natural Gas was up 22 cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down two cents.
