Monday, August 28th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.657, twelve cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.540. Continuing its pre-session momentum to attain the intraday high of $2.695 by 9:15AM, prices then trended lower. Possibly influenced by the threat of hurricane activity disrupting demand, the contract fell to cross midday at $2.597 and reach the intraday low of $2.544 at 12:54PM. September managed to close higher on Monday at $2.579.
As of 6:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 59 cents; Natural Gas was down two cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was down two cents.
