Friday, August 2nd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.113, nine cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.202. Reaching an intraday high of $2.129 soon after the opening bell, prices swooped downward to record a fresh three-year intraday low of $2.077 by 10:30AM. Shaking off the effects of the previous session’s storage-induced selloff, the contract mounted a recovery effort from the $2.09 level to reclaim the $2.120 level as September closed lower on Friday at $2.121, down nearly five cents on the week.
As of 9:06AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $1.38; Natural Gas was down seven cents; Heating Oil was down four cents; and Gasoline was down four cents.
