Wednesday, September 16th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.333, three cents below Tuesday’s closing price of $2.362. Trading slightly higher to record an intraday high of $2.342 at 9:30AM, the contract then moved decidedly lower, settling in near $2.290 through midday. Tallying an intraday low of $2.255 ahead of closing, October finished lower on Wednesday at $2.267.
The EIA Natural Gas Storage Report is due out at 10:30AM today. The report is expected to show a 79 BCF injection to storage for the week ended September 11th. This compares to an 84 BCF injection at this time last year and a five-year average injection amount of 77 BCF.
As of 8:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 24 cents; Natural Gas was down seven cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was up slightly.
