November NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $3.143 on Friday, October 5th

Friday, October 5th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $3.196, three cents above Thursday’s closing price of $3.165.  Climbing to the intraday high of $3.215 ten minutes after markets opened, prices quickly cascaded lower as forecasts showed above-average temperatures covering high demand locations in the coming week.  Seesawing along $3.140 from 10:00AM through midday, the contract slipped to the intraday low of $3.109 by 1:10PM.  Mounting a recovery effort to close out the day, November closed lower on the day at $3.143, but was up $0.135 on the week.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 95 cents; Natural Gas was up ten cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and, Gasoline was down three cents.
