Friday, April 24th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.776, four cents below Thursday’s closing price of $1.815. Surging higher early on to reach an intraday high of $1.839 at 9:20AM, markets were quick to retreat and traded along $1.790 by 10:00AM. Slipping to $1.757 at 11:20AM, the contract traded along $1.785 heading into the afternoon as lower demand due to the economic slowdown still poses as a bearish threat. Plummeting to an intraday low of $1.716 at 1:50PM, May closed lower on Friday at $1.746
As of 8:15AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $3.60; Natural Gas was down ten cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was down one cent.
