Tuesday, April 14th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.694, three cents below Monday’s closing price of $1.724. Following news of mild temperatures returning for much of the country, prices fell as low as $1.656 by 9:30AM. Recovering in the subsequent hour, the contract rose to tally an intraday high of $1.701. Fluctuating along either side of $1.680 into the afternoon, selling dominated to finish the day as we saw prices fall to an intraday low of $1.646 at 2:20PM. May closed lower on Tuesday at $1.650.
As of 7:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 55 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was up one cent.
