On Tuesday, January 30th – the March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts began trading as the prompt month. Opening at $3.236, seven cents below Monday’s closing price of 3.167, prices stumbled to fluctuate along $3.255 through 11:00AM before falling to the intraday low of $3.188 thirty minutes later as weather induced support waned. Rallying in the subsequent hour to mark the intraday high of $3.249 at 12:50PM, the March contract then withdrew into the afternoon to close higher at $3.195.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 32 cents; Natural Gas was down 14 cents; Heating Oil was down slightly; and, Gasoline was down one cent.
