Friday, February 9th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.645, five cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.697. With forecasts calling for above-average temperatures to settle in over the next 6-10 days, overnight selling persisted into the morning to reach $2.600 by midday. Marking nearly a one-year intraday low of $2.576 at 12:30PM, prices then rose modestly into the afternoon. With traders eyeing the end of winter and the storage withdrawals season, the contract closed lower on Friday at $2.584.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.11; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and, Gasoline was up three cents.
