March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.850 on Monday, February 1st

Monday, February 1st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.771, twenty-one cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.564.  Supported by heavy storms hitting the northeast and a bullish shift in weather forecasts, prices rose to cross midday near $2.825.  Ascending to a two-month intraday high of $2.868 at 12:40PM, March closed higher on Monday at $2.850.

As of 8:30AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.27; Natural Gas was up 14 cents; Heating Oil was up three cents; and Gasoline was up four cents.
