Monday, June 11th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.953, six cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.890. Tallying the intraday high of $2.966 within minutes of the day’s opening, prices trailed downward to the $2.93 level thirty minutes later. Buoyed by updated forecasts, which in turn will support increased cooling demand, the contract seesawed along $2.945 for the balance of the day as July closed higher on Monday at $2.949.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 15 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and, Gasoline was down one cent. Additionally, cash prices were higher in New York and New England.
