Tuesday, June 11th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.361, slightly above Monday’s closing price of $2.357. Recording an intraday low of $2.336 by 9:30AM, the contract showed life once again yesterday morning to recover from two-year lows. With short covering and the possibility of increased demand towards the end of the month providing support, prices crept upward to eclipse $2.365 near midday and tallied an intraday high of $2.406 at 2:20PM. July closed higher on Tuesday at $2.399.
As of 8:55AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down $1.44; Natural Gas was unchanged; Heating Oil was down three cents; and Gasoline was down three cents.
