Friday, November 9th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $3.663, twelve cents above Thursday’s closing price of $3.543. Despite the week’s bearish storage injection, prices surged higher Friday morning as cold weather continues to drive substantial gains. Eclipsing the $3.70 mark by 10:00AM, the contract shot up to a twenty-three month intraday high of $3.824 an hour later. Consolidating over the balance of the day, December closed higher on Friday at $3.719.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 89 cents; Natural Gas was up 11 cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up three cents.
