Monday, March 19th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.689, even to Friday’s closing price of $2.688. Quick to shed pre-market gains, prices rose to the intraday high of $2.693 before plunging to the intraday low of $2.640 by 9:20AM. Despite below-average forecasts covering much of the east coast, the end of the winter and storage withdrawal seasons proved too bearish to overcome. Fluctuating along $2.655 for the balance of the day, April closed lower on Monday at $2.651.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 87 cents; Natural Gas was unchanged; Heating Oil was up three cents; and, Gasoline was up three cents.
