January NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $5.577 on Monday, December 5th

Monday, December 5th saw the January NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $5.832, forty-five cents below Friday’s closing price of $6.281. Recording an intraday high of $5.865 by 9:30AM, prices continued to trend lower as the latest forecasts removed expected heated demand for the coming weeks. Crossing midday at $5.752, the contract tallied an intraday low of $5.556 at 2:25PM as January closed lower on Monday at $5.577.

As of 7:20AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 87 cents; Natural Gas was down eleven cents; Heating Oil was down three cents; and Gasoline was down two cents.
