March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $4.874 on Monday, January 31st

Monday, January 31st saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $4.831, twenty-eight cents above Friday’s closing price of $4.639. Seeking direction early on, prices slipped to an intraday low of $4.695 at 10:40AM. Climbing from this point past midday to achieve an intraday high of $4.978, short-term frigid temperatures have kept traders on their toes. March closed higher on Monday at $4.874.
 
As of 6:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 15 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down slightly.
