Monday, January 4th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.659, twelve cents above Thursday’s closing price of 2.539. Reaching to an intraday high of $2.669 soon after the opening bell, prices descended throughout the morning as the pre-session weather-induced rally lost support. Crossing midday near $2.589 and tallying an intraday low of $2.566 thirty minutes later, the February contract closed higher on Monday at $2.581.
As of 7:15AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 92 cents; Natural Gas was up 10 cents; Heating Oil was up three cents; and Gasoline was up three cents.
