August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.544 on Friday, June 26th

Friday, June 26th saw the August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.625, eight cents above Thursday’s closing price of $1.546.  Reaching an intraday high of $1.628 soon after the opening bell rang, the contract soon trended lower, falling to an intraday low of $1.517 as bearish sentiment continues to dominate.  Recovering to the $1.54 level as the day drew on, the August contract finished nearly flat on Friday at $1.544.

As of 7:15AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 14 cents; Natural Gas was up five cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was down two cents.
