Tuesday, August 27th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.208, two cents below Monday’s closing price of $2.230. Falling to an intraday low of $2.175 by 9:10AM, prices were able to reclaim the $2.20 level by 10:00AM and traded along this mark for the balance of the day. Shrugging off the possibility of a tropical storm affecting natural gas production, September closed lower on Tuesday at $2.202. The more heavily traded October contract closed roughly four cents lower at $2.202.
As of 9:25AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up $1.35; Natural Gas was up 5 cents; Heating Oil was up 3 cents; and Gasoline was up 2 cents.
