Monday, June 3rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.452, nearly even to Friday’s closing price of $2.454. Losing support from optimistic bulls, the latest weather forecasts have stripped any hope of recovering from Friday’s sell off. Tallying an intraday high of $2.458 as markets opened, prices withdrew decidedly into the morning. Marking a two-year intraday low of $2.382 at 12:20PM, little relief was seen in the balance of the day at July closed lower on Monday at $2.403.
As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 39 cents; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down three cents.
