Monday, May 6th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.537, three cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.567. Edging cautiously upward to an intraday high of $2.547 at 10:00AM, prices soon trended lower as the contract has struggled to find a footing during the shoulder month season. Sinking as low as $2.516 shortly after 11:00AM, June drifted sideways for the duration of the afternoon to close lower on Monday at $2.524.
As of 8:35 EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 52 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down two cents; and Gasoline was down four cents.
