Friday, February 8th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.586, more than three cents above Thursday’s closing price of $2.551. Trailing downward to the intraday low of $2.558 by 9:40AM, the contract scurried upward through the day in an effort to stave off any additional losses. Trading within Thursday’s intraday high and low, markets are currently holding their breath to see what the next catalyst will be. Marking an intraday high of $2.597 at 1:50PM, March closed higher on Friday at $2.583.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 47 cents; Natural Gas was up 13 cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was down one cent. Additionally, cash prices were higher in New York and New England.
