Friday, March 16th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.680, even with Thursday’s closing price of $2.681. Trading within a tight band along the $2.68 mark for the majority of the day, growth supported by forecasts for below-average temperatures over the back half of the month were kept in check by the impending arrival of spring. Plotting gradually higher over the day’s final hour, April peaked at the intraday high of $2.694 before closing higher on Friday at $2.688.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down six cents; Natural Gas was up one cent; Heating Oil was up one cent; and, Gasoline was up slightly.
