Monday, March 27th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.119, ten cents below Friday’s closing price of $2.216. Following a bearish shift in weather models over the weekend, prices rose to the intraday high of $2.136 by 10:15AM. Continuing the pre-opening downward trend from there, the contract fell to the intraday low of $2.059 at 2:05PM. With settlement looming closer, April closed lower on Monday at $2.088.
Set to assume the front-month on Thursday, the May contract closed lower on Monday as well at $2.215, down fifteen cents on the day.
As of 6:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 24 cents; Natural Gas was down three cents; Heating Oil was unchanged; and Gasoline was down one cent.
