June NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts Closed at $2.806 on Friday, May 11th

Friday, May 11th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contracts open at $2.809, slightly below Thursday’s closing price of $2.814.  Starting the day on the back foot, following Thursday’s above average injection to storage, prices stumbled down to the intraday low of $2.793 by 9:40AM.  Seeking direction from market fundamentals, the contract reclaimed $2.810 shortly thereafter and traded within a penny of this mark for the balance of the day.  June closed lower on Friday at $2.806.

This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 11 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and, Gasoline was up slightly.
