Monday, January 25th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.547, ten cents above Friday’s closing price of $2.446. Ascending to an intraday high of $2.583 within minutes of the opening bell, the contract traded within a tight band near $2.555 throughout the balance of the session. February closed higher on Monday at $2.602. Set to assume the front-month position on Thursday, the March contract opened nearly nine cents higher yesterday morning as colder temperatures have reentered the forecast. March closed higher on Monday as well at $2.598.
As of 7:05AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 24 cents; Natural Gas was up six cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up two cents.
