December NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $2.859 on Monday, November 9th

Monday, November 9th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.887, nearly even to Friday’s closing price $2.888.  Extending to an intraday high of $2.913 within minutes 9:00AM, prices soon withdrew to find an intraday low of $2.838 at 10:20AM.  Persistent bearish temperatures covering much of the country have zapped any hopes of an early start to winter, as the contract has dropped 15% in the last ten days.  Trading along either side of $2.865 throughout the afternoon, December closed lower on Monday at $2.859.

As of 8:40AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 34 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was up two cents; and Gasoline was up one cent.
