Friday, October 16th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.831, six cents above Thursday’s closing price $2.775. Recording an intraday high of $2.848 within minutes of 9:00AM, the contract soon trended lower as end-of-month colder temperatures came into question. Forming an outside day, recording a higher high and a lower low, the contract fell to an intraday low of $2.747 at 11:40AM. Mounting a recovery to finish the day, the November contract closed nearly flat on Friday at $2.773.
As of 8:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 14 cents; Natural Gas was down five cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down one cent.
