August NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.876 on Tuesday, July 7th

Tuesday, July 7th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.864, three cents above Monday’s closing price of $1.830.  Climbing from an intraday low of $1.863 minutes after the opening bell, prices rose to surpass $1.900 by 9:30AM and tallied a two-month intraday high of $1.924 at 11:30AM.  Fueled by nationwide summer heat in hopes that it will slow the building glut of gas in storage, support waned as the day drew on.  The August contract closed higher on Tuesday at $1.876

As of 7:45AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up four cents; Natural Gas was down four cents; Heating Oil was unchanged; and Gasoline was unchanged.
