Tuesday, May 26th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.785, five cents above Friday’s closing price of $1.731. Trailing downward to record the intraday low of $1.744 by 10:00AM, prices rose to an intraday high of $1.809 ninety minutes later. Trading primarily along $1.795 for the balance of the day, June closed higher on Tuesday at $1.793. The more actively traded July contract, set to take the front-month position on Thursday, traded near $1.935 for most of the day. Tallying an intraday high of $1.950 ahead of closing, July finished higher on Tuesday at $1.945.
As of 7:10AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 45 cents; Natural Gas was up two cents; Heating Oil was down one cent; and Gasoline was down two cents.
