March NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract Closed at $1.847 on Tuesday, February 25th

Tuesday, February 25th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $1.852, nearly three cents above Monday’s closing price of $1.827. In quiet day of trading, the intraday high of $1.862 was recorded soon after the opening bell and the intraday low of $1.833 was reached at 2:20PM.  Facing the same fundamentals that we’ve seen over the past few weeks, over supply has made markets less responsive to short-terms cold spells.  March closed higher on Tuesday at $1.847.  The more actively traded April contract posted a similar trend, closing nearly a penny higher at $1.851.

As of 8:35AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was down 67 cents; Natural Gas was unchanged; Heating Oil was down four cents; and Gasoline was down four cents.
