Friday, August 23rd saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.128, three cents below Thursday’s closing price of $2.159. Rising from an intraday low of $2.120 soon after markets opened, prices rose in the following ninety minutes to tally an intraday of $1.267 at 10:30AM. Despite calls for cooling temperatures and waning demand, the contract stabilized along $2.155 for the balance of the session. September closed lower on Friday at $2.152.
As of 8:50AM EST this morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 65 cents; Natural Gas was up three cents; Heating Oil was up one cent; and Gasoline was up two cents.
